I can not be…

I can not be the only lonely soul drifting through existence, a face in the crowd with my head in the clouds, the persistence of distance consistent

I can not be the most hollow of hearts on a path traveled by so many, we walk side by side yet held hostage by pride, show contempt so contently I resent thee

I can not be the most morbid of minds in a world so full of sorrows, haunted by your death as you took your last breath, for tomorrows not promised just borrowed

Ponderer on the Shoreline

You sustain life just as easily as you take it away, wild in the Winter, a blessing on a Summers day, gentle ocean breeze upon my skin do spray, sweet siren songs upon your shores all day

We spend hours pondering as you hypnotise us with your rhythmic movements, without words you answer all the questions of this life’s confusion

Untamable, can’t be conquered, blue guardian of so many mysteries, gatekeeper since the dawn of history, your salty depths hold tales of joy and misery, how I long to dive in thee, salted life giving entity

I dream of sleep

I wish that I could sleep tonight, I wish my mind would let me, I wish that I could find some peace, and my problems would all forget me

I wish I feared the demons cheers and the monster beneath the bed, for in that case I could tell myself ”it’s all just in your head”

So why can’t I just close my eyes and travel the land of dreams, the nightmare is too real to me and I can’t wake up it seems

A fools envy

Bear witness the fool, the unknowing, the unwise, masquerading before the masses, his smile, his disguise, not a soul knows his pain, not a soul sees his shame, he yearns for your smile, yet he knows not your name

Bear witness the Queen, high and mighty upon her throne, adored by the masses, yet her heart all alone, mesmerized by the Jester, his soul purpose her grin, her love of the fool tortures her from within

Bear witness the King, bold and strong like no other, unable to trust, not even his brother, he tosses and turns, unable to rest, he envies the fool, what a weight on his chest

Bear witness the masses, nameless faces in a crowd, not one hears the other, their laughter too loud, all wishing to be noticed by kings and by queens, we all wish to be fools, except the fool it seems.

Death of the embers

Frigid and lonely, your voice echoes in the distance, the last of the dying embers, kept alive through reminiscences

Fearful of the darkness, we hold on dearly even though we burn, your voice echoes in the distance, the embers grow colder in return

Gather them together, hold them close, hold them dear, your voice no longer echoes, the embers disappear

Silent and somber, we search for flames in fields of darkness, ash and thick smoke left by Loves burning carcass

All that remains…

More beautiful a curse is yet to be imagined, more painful a blessing is yet to be fathomed,

So tiny a trinket of most epic proportions, sweet words fall from her lips with underlying distortions,

When evil surrounds you and you feel you can not cope, all that remains is inside you, all that remains is hope.
