You opened my eyes to colours and the way that they feel, the passion of a fiery crimson sunset, sweet serenity of amber fields and rolling green hills, the soothing azure of an ocean riddled with ripples

You helped me hear words unspoken, realise dreams untold, to sit surrounded by darkness and watch the beauty unfold, be cleansed by the purity of a blinding light, to find what matters most, to stand and fight

You showed me the world through your charming eyes, so full of hope, your touch in anxious moments has helped me cope, your calming voice in the silence of deafening depression, your acts of kindness when faced with raw aggression

You understand me and I pray I understand you too, soulmates on an astral plane, a real love so true, everyday a new connection, our true love brand new

Why do you make me relive the memory, you know how deep it cuts, am I the sucker for punishment, since I set myself up for the punch

My blood runs cold through a heart of stone, everytime that I pick up your phone, I still can’t believe, you chose to deceive, while still telling me I was the one

But somewhere deep I still care for you, there’s a flame there that I can not snuff, you broke all the rules, made us both the fools, left us scrambling for tools trying to fix this,

Quiet Friday afternoon, the sun will sure be setting soon, ground floor of a cheap motel, an empty man that’s just a shell

Car broke down, it’s somewhere stuck, a broken man down on his luck, all his life a punching bag, discarded like a torn up rag

Trying just to numb the pain, a loaded needle to a vein, he knows it’s not the way to deal, he just can’t cope with how he feels

Turns off the lights and goes to bed, demons dancing through his head, eyes shut he begins to pray, tomorrow brings a better day

Predators, Prey & Perversions

Concrete jungle predator, the scent of your prey excites you, infatuated by her silhouette, the thought of the hunt ignites you

Dark alleys, dim lit streets and untrimmed hedges, hunting grounds for perverted pleasures, the thrill of being caught tonight, keeps you well obscured from sight

The hairs upon her arms begins to stand, she knows you’re out there and your plans, even though you’re not in view, be careful, she’s prepared for you

Notice one hand in her purse, beware her kink is more perverse, although you fancy yourself the hunter, your ignorance your biggest blunder

She turns down a deserted street, her mini skirt has you in heat, you can’t resist, begin to run, she smiles and pulls her loaded gun

One shot, two shots, three shots, four, your lifeless body hits the floor, one arm, one leg, one head, one heart, she hunted you right from the start

Living in isolation, a cage crafted by me or you, are you the only one to blame, or am I responsible too

Looking back on every day, the things I have allowed, I danced to every tune you played, I tried to make you proud

So maybe it’s my fault aswell for playing your cruel game, but should I leave and not return, you’ll be the one to blame

Coffee and a cigarette on a lazy Sunday morning, the cool breeze gives me goosebumps, what a beautiful day dawning

The sweet smell of pancakes fills the house with such delight, the sun smiles from the horizon, filling the sky with amber light

We all sit at the table, but mom seems unstable, like stuck in a nightmarish Brothers Grimm fable, her hands start to shiver as she grips on the knife, dad stares as he ponders what’s wrong with his wife

He notices, she is not wearing her ring and something seems kind of off with her skin, I whisper to Dad ‘I think it’s time to go’ but mother let’s out a resounding NO!

She clenches her fists with a sinister smile, ‘You won’t be going anywhere for a while…’ ‘Now sit down and eat everything that I’ve made, the pancakes, the eggs and the toast marmalade, Drink all of the coffee, I don’t care if it’s hot, I’ve got roasted veggies and meat in the pot’,

‘I want it all gone and don’t you dare say that you’re full’ and right there mothers mouth began to drool, I looked over at dad, frozen in fear, what’s going on with mother, her motives unclear,

I reach for a knife, eyes fixed on my mother, it’s almost afternoon, but I haven’t heard from my brother…
